Google會推出自己的作業系統？

Google OS一直在網上討論得滾熱。今日Read/Write Web上Emre Sokullu 撰了一文預測Google OS的推出可能性。其分析了Google的OS會以Ajax Powered WebOS形式或以Google版本的Linux distribution出台。

在Microsoft Vista的掣肘下，Google推出自己OS，我認為可能性很高。最終當然會走上Web　OS的這條路，但現時技術還不允許。看YouOS , Goowy, DesktopTwo, Xin這些做Web OS的就知道，志氣可嘉，但功能還很陽春，和Windows, MacOS, Linux沒辦法競爭。而如果Google先推出自己的Linux distribution則可行性甚高：首先免費，加上Google品牌，不愁沒用戶；二來Linux作為Desktop OS已經頗成熟，內建OpenOffice和FireFox，用Meebo做IM ,幾乎可以在一般用戶的層面上完全取代Windows, MacOS；再者，隨著未來技術再進步，網絡儲存和網上Office Suit的功能成熟，如果Google擁有自己的OS平台，可以更好引導用戶從Computer Orianted過渡到Fully Web Based。
